All Things Facades Podcast with Mitchell Joachim By Adrian Lowenstein

Recorded live at Facades+ NYC, this episode of the Podcast brings together BIG, Thornton Tomasetti, StudioNYL, Terreform ONE, and more for a wide-ranging conversation about the realities of building envelope work in New York today.

The conversation goes into design intent versus specification reality, how glazing contractors navigate custom and complex scopes, and what a more sustainable and biodiverse approach to facades could look like in practice.

Whether you're a designer, contractor, consultant, or owner, this episode captures the thinking happening behind the drawings - and the decisions that define how New York's building envelope continues to evolve.

Facades+ NYC Speaker, Mitchell Joachim, Terreform ONE

Facades+ returns to NYC with a program featuring the latest in building design and technology.

Biophilic Design: Expanding Nature: Biophilic design is not simply the single, incongruous instance of nature in an otherwise sterile project, but continuous interventions of the natural environment that are complementary with one another. It is the job of designers to ensure that as innovations in facade technology continue, ways to exploit those advances are propagated. In this roundtable, designers Mitchell Joachim, Julia Watson, Einat Lubliner, and Joyce Hwang will speak about the ways to ensure that biophilic design improves, and the many facets of construction, including facades, where it can find successful expression.
